E – Last couple days and some final musings on an epic trip
Well here we are…just finished the last trek home to end this great first trip. Our last couple days in Cavendish the weather turned and it was really windy and cold. We got our last golf game in at Glen Eagles, really good Graham Cooke design but holy cow did the wind blow and it…

Diane: Rivière-du-Loup to Home
I enjoy a warm, gentle breeze, listening to water lapping the beach. Less so, did I enjoy our last 48 hours in Cavendish, with single-digit temperatures, 70 km/hr, tree-bending wind gusts, and big whitecaps crashing into the shoreline. Troopers that we are, we golfed the first day, but declared the next one “an indoor day”.…

Diane: Cavendish and Charlottetown
This is a beautiful area, with lots of activities to offer. I’ve been biking along the beautiful Gulf Shore Parkway, enjoying time on the beach, and visiting Charlottetown. Here are some pics: Here’s a bonus sight when we were wandering around Charlottetown before our own pre-dinner cocktail. We played the challenging Green Gables on Monday,…

Diane: Sand Beach
I started the morning with a bike ride along the backroads in our area. Even off official bike routes, the roads are really well-maintained and drivers are respectful of cyclists. When we were cycling on Wednesday through Acadia National Park, E spied a beautiful beach. We headed there on Friday for a little down time.…

Diane: Bar Harbor
Wednesday afternoon, we headed into Bar Harbor. We took advantage of the Island Explorer, which is a free shuttle service sponsored by L.L. Bean that covers Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, and Acadia National Park. We popped our bikes on for our ride in the park on Tuesday. Bar Harbor is a great little town for boutique…

Diane: Acadia National Park
We headed out on Wednesday morning to bike in the park. We did the complete Park Loop Road of 44 kms, covering the beautiful shoreline and mountain cliffs, as well as the interior forest. We could have made better time, but photo opps of the scenic views were too spectacular to pass up. Here’s one,…

E – A really nice day in Bar Harbor and Spectacular ride in Acadia National Park but….
I am going to get a new f*@*##$& bike. As some of you know I am not entirely fond of the current hybrid I have..to put it mildly. I am kinda wishing it got completely totalled when it fell of the rack before we left. The frame is too heavy and the tires are great…
