Toto I’ve a feeling we aren’t in Kansas anymore….

…so that was interesting and a little unexpected. We woke up one morning to a weather watch for Tornado’s….hmmmm. I can tell you it isn’t the most comfortable feeling looking at the radar and seeing orange, yellows, pinks and reds all in your proximity. Alas, we were fortunate and all we got were some dandy winds and a bunch of rain.

On the brighter side we had a great day trip to Savannah. It is a really lovely town and we covered a fair bit of the historical area and waterfront. We stopped by the park where they filmed Forrest Gump sitting on a bench when he starts to tell his story.

We continued to have great days for golf and in the end we played 10 rounds and only the last 9 holes were affected by rain.

Some interesting notes pop up on the video displays in the carts : )

We went back to Harbor Town for my bday dinner as Di had made a reservation at a great restaurant that is part of the Lighthouse. Great food and really nice sunset view!

One more campfire on our last night and we were on our way to Cape Hatteras with an overnight in Roanoke Rapids.

Funny thing happened on the way. We have had some issues with the weather stripping that covers the plate that attaches the eavestrough to the top rim of the 5th wheel. I had plans to fix it when we got back home and my temporary solution ended up being more temporary than planned. I put some duct tape along both sides of the 5th wheel to hold down the stripping but when we got all the rain it basically made the duct tape useless. 20 minutes in to the drive we pulled into a gas station to secure the bin in the back of the truck and low and behold one side of the weather stripping is hanging on by a thread….so I get up and take the entire length off. I thought the other side was still secure…wrong! Driving down I95 and someone pulls up beside me and points to the back…I was able to pull over almost immediately and get up on the roof to find the whole 36 feet on the other side is nowhere in sight…Oooooops. Now trying to find a place where we can get the stripping and I’ll fix it at Cape Hatteras….never a dull moment : )

Can’t wait to get too Hatteras!
