Diane: Port St. Joe

This is a beautiful coastal area where we’ve enjoyed sunsets at our waterfront site:

Home at Port St. Joe
…at sunset

One evening, while enjoying this view, the people in the next site had a visitor looking for dinner:

This pelican wants to know what’s cooking tonight.

I had a few great bike rides out the Cape San Blas peninsula. We spent an afternoon at the nine-mile beach in the T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. We chose the Gulf side, but a two-minute walk across the peninsula would’ve put us on the beach on St. Joseph Bay.

Cape San Blas and the state park on the peninsula.
Construction of the beach tent.
Houses on ‘stilts’ are standard construction here, even those not near water.

Solar update: Although shore power was available to us in Port St. Joe, we didn’t hook up. Instead, we had three successful days with the solar system, which was a huge relief. I enjoy the national and state parks too much to cut our time there due to a lack of electricity (i.e., freshly brewed coffee). 😊
