We had a very short stay in Titusville on our way to the Everglades. We had a bit of an adventure getting into our site when we arrived on Saturday….we are finding this happens sometimes with these parks. The park itself is quite nice with a pier you can fish off and there are lots of trees…and here in lies the challenge as well with some of the sites. Our site was quite narrow and trees on either side close to the road made backing in some fun. They’re were a couple of folks pulling in behind me and they would have to wait. The guy in the RV waiting right behind us hopped out of his vehicle and offered to help…we just keep running into great people. It took a few runs at it but finally got in and settled.
The next day we went to the Kennedy Space Centre and ended up spending the better part of 5 hours there. It is quite something….the video presentations and the actual displays with equipment from the actual missions is amazing. It was a very informative day…and very impressive.

This is the Vehicle Assembly Building, one the largest buildings by volume in the world. The flag is 21 stories high. This is where they assemble the spacecraft.

This is the Saturn V, used from 1967-1973….absolutely massive.
Off to the Everglades tomorrow.
