E – Hilton High

Well what a great next phase of the trip after a challenging start. First off the RV resort we stayed in was awesome. The place caters to the RV’ers and is connected to Hilton Head National Golf course…we walked to the first tee 😄. The amenities were impeccable and the staff were outstanding. After we got ushered to our site and set up I went about getting access to all the cable channels…after all it was Masters Sunday! I connect the cable, run the scan and alas…channels aren’t showing. I make sure connections are good and look behind TV and see two red buttons…one for on…one for off…I assume we want on. We haven’t really watched any TV on our first trip or to date on this one. Still not getting them. I call the office and they send over a very friendly fella. He comes in and walks over to the TV with me and we look at the two red buttons…he says “that should be off so the signal by passes the antenna and just uses cable”. I smile and say “Got it”…he says…and not condescending at all…”lots of folks forget about that”. I am sure he walked away thinking newbie Jughead…how did he even get here.

After that it was five days of golf, Pickleball and hangin out with great weather.

Didn’t realize we picked the same colours until about the third hole😁

The golf courses were great from a layout perspective and the greens on all the courses were great…fast and true…but to be honest I was a little disappointed in the condition of the fairways. To be fair I guess it’s early season here as well. Oh and by the way…yes there are gators…I was walking near a pond where my ball was and a sudden thrashing startled the crap out of me and I see a gator pop up about 10 feet away….hmmmm…looking for balls may have its hazards.

I did have a bit of a moment at Oyster Reef…holed out from about 160 yds from the fairway for an eagle on a par 4…cant for the life me get a hole in 1…Di has two…

The other thing we did was to test out the solar setup before we head to the Everglades where we need it. Happy to say that it all seems to be working the way we envisioned but the real test starts Monday.

Now off to Titusville for a brief stop and then the Everglades!
