E – Cavendish charms

Well we are in the last stretch of our inaugural trip and we have hit Cavendish beach in PEI. After a great visit with friends Kim and Jeff in Saint John we got to Cavendish around 3 in the afternoon. Di has already regailed you with the great stay in Saint John so I wont rehash here.

I love Cavendish and PEI in general. We are set up about 250 m from the ocean, we can hear it when sitting out front.

Tucked in at Cavendish…about 250 metres from…

I had made a tee time at Green Gables golf course a while back and we played it Monday. It’s a beautiful Stanley Thompson design only 5 minutes from the park and it was a perfect day to play.

Some beautiful holes along ocean inlets

Yesterday was a beach and chill day with a sunset glass of wine on the beach.

Sunset….ahhhhhh

Today we spent the afternoon in Charlottetown and ended with a dinner at the Claddagh Oyster House…a great town and fabulous dinner.

Tomorrow we were planning on heading to the west end of the island to play Mill River golf club but weather isn’t cooperating.

On a completely other note…I am learning a fair bit about driving this rig as one might expect. I do enjoy the driving at points…nicely paved highway, relatively flat or gently rolling hills and good weather. I definitely don’t mind a 4-6 hour session….7-8 is ok but beyond that it starts to wear. It’s just that you have to be constantly aware of the fact that you are pulling something that is wider than your vehicle and if it’s really hilly managing breaking and accelerating needs constant attention.
