After two days of biking, and enjoying the beaches (and seals) along the Cape Cod National Seashore, we set out for Bar Harbor on Monday morning.
The day started out with a success. Until this morning, we had been eyeballing the RV pin and the truck hitch to align them using the RV controls. This was a very frustrating, and time-consuming, trial-and-error approach. This week, Google helped refresh our memory about the ‘Hitch Height’ control button that automatically lowers the front of the RV to the position it was in when last unhitched. Voila!—truck and RV hitched together ON THE FIRST TRY! High fives all around.
The day went slightly off-plan when we hit the highway. To file under either “lessons learned” or “what we’re we thinking?’, we, along with everyone else who vacationed in the Cape for Labour Day weekend, headed out this morning on Highway 6 to the mainland.
With the traffic delay and slower driving because of all-day rain, we checked in late to Mt. Desert Narrows RV Resort. The frozen dinner pizza dinner was a sad, sad letdown after a good run of fresh seafood dinners.
