The drive from our first overnight to Cape Cod was much nicer than the first leg. Being on a major highway like I-90 rather than smaller and or hillier secondary highways makes a difference in the whole driving experience . All went well and we got into Cape Cod and to our destination – Atlantic Oaks – around 3pm. Set up was a bit more of a challenge here for a couple reasons. The hookups seemed, to this RV noobie, to be a little far back in the site. It didn’t take too much to place the rig in a decent level spot but my eyeballing the distance to the hookups was off and once we got unhitched I discovered we were out of reach of the sewer and water hookup with the equipment bought…crap(no pun intended). I ran over to the park office and they had a decent supply of equipment. A couple trips to the local ACE Hardware store and we were good to go.
Our neighbors, a couple from New York, Gene and Rabbie were super friendly. They are significantly more experienced than we are and Gene enlightened me on a number of things. He also commented on the distance the hook ups were 😊.
We are now pretty settled and enjoyed a great day today going to Provincetown…a very artistic and eclectic community…thoroughly enjoyed. Next up Hyannis and some local beach time.
