So big day…picked up the 5th wheel! We bought this one year old rig off a fantastic couple who have been extremely helpful with providing insights and training. The day went very smoothly as we went through hook up and unhooking before I drove it up to the lake where we will keep it between trips. Our first trip is in September and we will use the time between now and then getting used to the many different aspects of our travelling home.
Wow is there a lot of crap to buy! Di has been extremely busy and our doorway has become a congested drop zone for Amazon, the Bay, Bed, Bath and Beyond and others. I have been dealing with what we refer to as operational preparedness while Di has been handling all the living necessities. It was a good split as I have observed a ton of stuff where I go “good pick up, I wouldn’t have thought of that until we needed it”😄
We have run into one major issue…the fridge wasn’t working on our run through…wow are those things sensitive to levelling. Called an authorized Grand Design dealer and they said sure we can get you in for service….in 10 weeks…yikes. Then called a new Perth RV shop and they said we can get you in in 3 days…awesome. Tried multiple solutions – there is a ton of stuff on you tube. Finally hooked it up to the truck and moved it about 30 feet, relevelled…turned the fridge on and wham…it worked! Ok all systems go!
